Dhaka, Aug 10 (V7N)– The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has launched an expanded subsidized product sale program for Smart Family Card holders, alongside a special mobile truck operation to reach more consumers. Starting today (Aug 10), 60 mobile trucks will sell essential commodities in Dhaka city, offering edible oil, sugar, and lentils at affordable prices.

According to a notification signed by TCB Deputy Director Md. Shahadat Hossain, the program will run from August 10 to September 13, excluding Fridays. Each truck will cater to 500 people per day in Dhaka city.

In addition to the capital, TCB will operate 25 trucks in Chattogram city, six in Gazipur, three in Cumilla city, eight in Dhaka district, 12 in Cumilla district, four in Faridpur, and five each in Patuakhali and Bagerhat. These operations will run daily (except Fridays) from August 10 to August 31.

The products will be sold at fixed rates: edible oil (2 liters) at Tk 230, sugar at Tk 80 per kg, and lentils at Tk 140 per kg. Prices for Smart Family Card holders will remain unchanged from previous rates.

TCB officials said the initiative aims to help low-income and fixed-income families cope with market price hikes, particularly in urban and semi-urban areas.
