Dhaka, June 16 (V7N) — Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor, Professor Dr. Sayedur Rahman, has assured the public that there is no cause for panic regarding the current Covid-19 situation. The government has taken all necessary preparations for testing and treatment, he said on Monday after visiting the National Gastroliver Institute and Hospital and the Chest Disease Hospital in the capital.
Dr. Sayedur Rahman informed reporters that two specialized hospitals — one in Dhaka and another in Chattogram — have already been designated for the treatment of Covid-19 patients. He added that if the situation deteriorates, special treatment units will be established in other hospitals across the country.
Regarding hospital infrastructure, Dr. Sayedur noted that the Chest Disease Hospital requires development and that steps are underway in that regard. He also highlighted that extensive efforts are being made to control the spread of dengue, particularly in the southern regions of the country.
During the visit, the Special Assistant commended the medical services being provided at the National Gastroliver Hospital.
