Muscat, Mar 01 (V7N) – Four people were injured in an attack on the oil tanker Skylight approximately five nautical miles off the coast of Masandam, Oman, on Sunday, the Omani Maritime Security Center reported. The incident was confirmed by Al Jazeera.

The tanker, flying the flag of Palau, had 24 crew members on board. Four were injured in the attack, while the remaining 20 were safely evacuated with the assistance of Oman’s navy and military.

The Maritime Security Center stated that Oman’s armed forces conducted the rescue operation swiftly to ensure the safety of all personnel.

Oman, which has previously acted as a mediator in talks between Iran and the United States regarding a new nuclear deal, continues to play a key role in maintaining regional maritime safety.
