Hyderabad, Nov 03 (V7N)- At least 19 people were killed and several others injured in a tragic road accident in Vikarabad, in the southern Indian state of Telangana, on Monday morning.

The incident occurred at Chevela on the Vikarabad–Hyderabad highway around 7:30 a.m. local time, when a truck loaded with stones collided head-on with a passenger bus while overtaking a motorcycle. The truck subsequently overturned, causing the stones it carried to crash onto the bus, resulting in severe casualties.

The bus, carrying around 40 passengers, was traveling from Mirzaguda to Rangareddy at the time of the accident.

Rescue operations were swiftly launched, and the injured passengers were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and directed authorities to ensure prompt and proper medical care for the injured.
