Gaza, Aug 14 (V7N) – Israel has intensified its assault on Gaza, killing at least 100 Palestinians in a single day, despite mounting international condemnation and calls to halt the violence, Al Jazeera reported Thursday.
In Gaza City alone, 61 people were killed amid relentless bombardment, particularly in the densely populated Zaytoun neighborhood. Over the past three days, Israeli forces have destroyed more than 300 buildings in the city. The Sheikh Redwan area also came under heavy attack.
On Wednesday, Israeli troops reportedly opened fire on Palestinians while they were collecting humanitarian aid, killing at least 37.
The humanitarian crisis continues to worsen, with eight more deaths from starvation and malnutrition — three of them children — bringing the famine-related death toll in Gaza to 235, including 106 children.
Last week, the Israeli cabinet approved a military plan to seize Gaza City, signaling a possible escalation in the coming days.
