Dhaka, July 22, (V7N) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft at the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara, the capital of Bangladesh.

In a condolence message sent on Monday (July 21), Modi stated, “I am deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of life in a plane crash in Dhaka. Many of the deceased are young students. Our hearts go out to the families. We wish the injured a speedy recovery in this incident.”

He further added, “India expresses solidarity with Bangladesh. India is ready to provide all possible assistance and cooperation.”

The incident occurred around 1:18 PM on Monday, when an F-7 BGI model training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into a school building, immediately catching fire. So far, 19 people have been confirmed dead, and at least 164 have been injured—many of them school children. The injured are receiving treatment at various hospitals in the capital.

Rescue efforts involving the Fire Service, Army, Air Force, and Navy began shortly after the crash, with emergency response teams still active on the scene.
