Tel Aviv, June 24 (V7N) — Families of Israeli prisoners held in Gaza have urged the Israeli government to end the ongoing war in the Palestinian territories and focus on securing the release of their loved ones.

In a statement issued by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, the group emphasized, “Gaza must be included in the ceasefire agreement. We call on the government to hold urgent talks to release all prisoners and end the war. If a ceasefire with Iran is possible, then the war in Gaza can also be stopped.”

The statement also warned against prolonging the conflict in Gaza, saying, “It is not reasonable to sink back into the mud of Gaza after the devastating blow to Iran. This will not serve any interest of Israel.”

The families stressed that failing to leverage the current diplomatic momentum to secure the release of hostages would be a grave mistake. “Not using the opportunity to end the operation in Iran and release all prisoners would be a serious diplomatic failure. This is a historic opportunity, and the Israeli government should grab it with both hands,” the statement read.

This appeal comes amid a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Iran after weeks of escalating conflict. Meanwhile, the war in Gaza continues, with thousands of Palestinians and Israelis killed since hostilities began, intensifying calls both domestically and internationally for an immediate resolution.
