Tel Aviv, June 17 (V7N) — Iran has launched a fresh round of missile attacks targeting northern Israel, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Monday. The strikes come amid escalating hostilities between the two countries.
According to a BBC report, air raid sirens were activated across northern Israel, with residents instructed to evacuate to designated shelters.
Israel’s National Emergency Service stated that, as of now, there have been no reports of casualties from the latest barrage of Iranian missiles.
Meanwhile, Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported that sirens also rang out in Haifa, Israel’s key northern port city. Haifa has been under repeated attacks over the past four days, with Israeli strikes on the city resulting in the deaths of at least three people. The attacks also forced the closure of the city’s vital oil refinery, further straining Israel’s energy sector.
Tensions remain high, with fears that the conflict could spiral further in the coming days.
