Atlanta, June 23 (V7N) — Manchester City stormed into the knockout stage of the FIFA Club World Cup with a commanding 6-0 victory over United Arab Emirates club Al Ain in a Group G encounter at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Monday (June 23).

From the very outset, Pep Guardiola’s side imposed their authority on the match. German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan opened the scoring in just the 8th minute, setting the tone for City’s dominance.

Claudio Echeverri added the second in the 27th minute, before Erling Haaland calmly converted a penalty to make it 3-0 before halftime.

In the second half, Gundogan found the net again to complete his brace, further dismantling Al Ain’s defense. Oscar Bobb and Rayan Cherki capped off the rout with two well-taken goals in the latter stages of the match.

With this win, Manchester City now sit second in the Group G standings with 6 points from two consecutive victories. Italian giants Juventus, also undefeated, have secured their place in the knockout stages alongside City.
