June 20 (V7N) – World Cup-winning Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is on the verge of leaving Aston Villa for Manchester United. If negotiations proceed as expected, the Red Devils will reportedly pay a transfer fee of £40 million for the star shot-stopper.
Martinez, currently Aston Villa’s first-choice goalkeeper, is eager to embrace a bigger challenge in his career. Manchester United, meanwhile, are actively searching for a new goalkeeper as doubts grow over André Onana’s position at Old Trafford.
According to sources close to the deal, United’s newly appointed head coach Ruben Amorim has already given his approval to bring the Argentine to the club. Martinez’s leadership qualities, fierce mentality, and commanding presence between the posts have particularly impressed the Portuguese manager.
While several top European clubs have shown interest in signing Martinez, Manchester United remains his preferred destination.
Should the transfer be completed, it will mark a significant addition for United as they aim to rebuild under Amorim’s leadership ahead of the new season.
