Washington, June 19 (V7N) — At least 639 people have been killed and over 1,320 injured in recent Israeli strikes on Iranian territory, according to a report by Washington-based human rights activists, as cited by Al Jazeera.

The organization stated that among the deceased are 263 civilians and 154 members of Iran’s security forces. The report suggests that the real casualty figures could be even higher, as communication disruptions and restricted access to several targeted areas have made independent verification difficult.

The scale of the reported casualties, if confirmed, would mark one of the deadliest escalations between Iran and Israel in recent history. The strikes have reportedly hit both military and civilian infrastructure in key Iranian provinces.

Human rights groups have expressed grave concern over the high number of civilian deaths, urging international organizations to investigate the incidents and ensure accountability. The group called on the international community to push for restraint and prioritize diplomatic channels to de-escalate tensions in the region.

The Israeli government has not officially responded to the casualty figures reported by the activists. However, Israeli military officials previously stated that their operations target only military assets and threats posed by Iran’s strategic infrastructure and proxy networks.

Tensions between Iran and Israel have sharply intensified in recent weeks, raising fears of a broader regional conflict that could draw in other actors, including the United States, Hezbollah, and Gulf states.

The human rights report adds new urgency to ongoing international diplomatic efforts aimed at containing the violence and preventing further loss of life.
