Rangpur, June 21 (V7N) – Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General and Director of the Rangpur-Dinajpur region, Maulana Abdul Halim, has announced that the party is actively working to secure victory in all 33 parliamentary constituencies in the greater Rangpur area in the upcoming national election. He stated that candidates have already been declared for all these seats, and Jamaat is determined to continue its efforts to win them.
He made the statement in response to journalists' questions during a press conference held at the party’s Rangpur city office at Shapla Square on Friday afternoon. The briefing was organized to discuss preparations for a divisional rally planned to be held at Rangpur Zilla School ground.
Abdul Halim stated that the party aims to organize the rally on July 4 as part of its broader political agenda, which includes demands for the implementation of the Teesta Mega Project and the vision of building a more humane Bangladesh. He called for enthusiastic participation from all levels of society—students, workers, political activists, and citizens across religious and political lines—to ensure the success of the upcoming rally.
He further informed that the chief guest at the rally will be Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The keynote speaker will be ATM Azharul Islam, a recently released member of the party’s Central Executive Committee. Other national and local leaders, including Zahidul Islam, President of Islami Chhatra Shibir (student wing), are also expected to speak at the event.
Several central and regional Jamaat leaders were present at the press conference, including:
