TOKYO, JUL, 23 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo today organized a special prayer service for the victims of the tragic aircraft crash that occurred at Milestone School and College in Dhaka earlier this week.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan, Md. Daud Ali, expressed his profound sadness over the incident. He offered prayers for the forgiveness of the souls of those who died in the accident and for the swift recovery of the injured.
The ceremony saw the participation of members of the Bangladeshi community residing in Japan, as well as officials from the Bangladesh Embassy. A special prayer was offered collectively for the deceased and the speedy recovery of those injured, along with supplications for the overall development, progress, and welfare of Bangladesh.
The prayers in Tokyo follow a devastating incident on July 21, 2025, when a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training jet crashed into the Milestone School and College campus in Dhaka's Uttara area. The crash resulted in a significant loss of life, with reports indicating over 30 fatalities, including students, teachers, and the pilot, and more than 170 injuries, many critically, primarily due to burns. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant Mohammad Towkir Islam, reportedly made efforts to divert the aircraft away from densely populated areas before the crash. The incident has led to widespread grief and calls for investigations into its cause.
