Rampal, Sept 21 (V7N) — Lion Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam, joint convener of Bagerhat district BNP and a nomination aspirant for the Mongla-Rampal constituency, has taken an initiative to provide safe drinking water for students across schools in the region. On Sunday morning at 11:00 am, he inaugurated a newly installed tube well at Rampal Pilot Girls’ High School to ensure fresh water supply for its students.
The program began with a reception where students and school authorities greeted him with flowers. Dr. Islam formally opened the facility by cutting a ribbon and personally drawing and drinking water from the tube well. Following the inauguration, he planted two medicinal tree saplings in the school premises, symbolizing his commitment to health and environment. Local BNP leaders and activists were also present during the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Islam said Rampal Pilot Girls’ High School is one of the oldest institutions in the area and that the need for a drinking water source had long been felt. “Today that need has been fulfilled. Such small initiatives are very important for society. Politics should always be for people and their welfare. This example will spread to other places as well,” he said. He emphasized that the installation was part of broader steps taken in the education sector, adding that more tube wells are being set up in schools across Mongla and Rampal in line with local needs and water scarcity.
The initiative is being seen as a practical contribution to students’ well-being and public health in the district, ensuring access to clean water in an area where safe sources remain limited.
