Mongla, August 4 (V7N) – In an effort to promote education among marginalized communities, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has distributed educational materials to schoolchildren in Mongla's remote coastal area of Joymoni.

According to Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque, the organization has been consistently involved in humanitarian and socio-economic development initiatives in coastal and riverine regions since its inception. As part of that ongoing commitment, the Coast Guard’s Western Zone (Mongla) conducted a community outreach program on Sunday, distributing essential school supplies to students from three educational institutions in the Joymoni area.

A total of 200 students from Joymoni Secondary School, Joymonirghol Government Primary School, and Joymonirghol Darus Sunnat Ebtedayee Hafizia Madrasa received items including notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, and sharpeners.

Lt. Commander Haque stated that these kinds of humanitarian and welfare-oriented efforts reflect the Bangladesh Coast Guard’s dedication to improving the lives of disadvantaged citizens. He assured that such community support activities will continue in the future.

The event was met with appreciation from local teachers and families, who noted that the support would significantly ease the financial burden on low-income households and encourage continued school attendance in the region.
