Jhalokathi, July 16 (V7N) – A recognition ceremony was held on Tuesday morning to honor 21 students from Kathalia Upazila who achieved the highest possible GPA-5 in this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Dakhil, and Vocational examinations.
 
Organized by the Kathalia Upazila Administration, the event took place at 11:00 AM in the Upazila Parishad conference room. Students representing various educational institutions in the upazila were first welcomed with floral greetings and later presented with commemorative crests as formal recognition of their academic excellence.
 
The event was graced by Md. Zahirul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Kathalia, as the chief guest. Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Kathalia-Rajapur Circle), Md. Shah Alam, was present as a special guest. Additional speakers included Upazila Fisheries Officer Nahida Akhter, Officer-in-Charge of Kathalia Police Station Mong Chenla, and student representatives Faria Yasmin Ahona and Ashiqur Rahman Nahid. The ceremony was presided over by Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Anwarul Azim.
 
This year, 17 students from secondary schools, two from madrasas, and two from vocational institutions in the upazila achieved GPA-5. All were acknowledged during the event in the presence of local government officials, teachers, parents, and members of the press.
 
Officials praised the students for their dedication and resilience and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence. They also acknowledged the vital role of teachers and parents in supporting the students' academic journeys.
 
The ceremony aimed not only to honor achievement but to inspire other students in the region to pursue education with commitment and ambition.
