Dhaka, Sep 21 (V7N) – After a brief fall following eight consecutive hikes, gold prices in Bangladesh have once again been raised. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced the new rates on Saturday night, which came into effect from Sunday (Sept 21).
According to the new pricing, the cost of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) has risen by Tk 1,155 to Tk 1,89,307.
Other updated rates are as follows:

21-carat gold: Tk 1,80,699 per bhori

18-carat gold: Tk 1,54,886 per bhori

Traditional gold: Tk 1,28,479 per bhori
By comparison, on Saturday (Sept 20), the prices stood at Tk 1,88,152 for 22-carat, Tk 1,79,602 for 21-carat, Tk 1,53,941 for 18-carat, and Tk 1,27,674 for traditional gold.
BAJUS said the new prices will remain effective nationwide until further notice. In addition, the 5% government-set VAT and a minimum making charge of 6%, set by BAJUS, will be added to the selling price. The making charge may vary depending on the jewelry’s design and quality.
