Dhaka, Aug 7 (V7N) – A formal complaint has been submitted against five accused in a case of crimes against humanity related to the shooting of Amir Hossain, who was seen hanging from a roof cornice during the July-August mass movement in Rampura, Dhaka.
The complaint was filed at the International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Thursday (August 7) by Prosecutor Faruk Ahmed, with Prosecutor Saimum Reza Talukder accompanying him on behalf of the prosecution.
The accused named in the complaint are:

Habibur Rahman, former Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)

Md. Rashedul Islam, former Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Khilgaon Zone

Chanchal Chandra Sarkar, former Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Rampura Police Outpost

Tariqul Islam Bhuiyan, former Sub-Inspector (SI) of Rampura Police Station
The investigation report into the case was submitted to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office on July 31 by officials from the investigation agency, following the tribunal’s directive to complete the probe within two months.
The directive was issued on July 14 by a three-member judicial panel headed by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, Chairman of International Crimes Tribunal-1. Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim represented the prosecution during that hearing.
The complaint marks a significant step forward in seeking justice for victims of state violence during the mass uprising.
