Dhaka, July 22 (V7N) - In the wake of the tragic plane crash at Milestone School and College, special prayer sessions and discussion meetings were held across the country on Tuesday to honor the deceased and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Khagrachhari:
Following government directives, special prayers took place at Khagrachhari’s Shri Shri Central Laxminarayan Temple and Bhubaneshwari Kali Temple at 8 pm. A large number of devotees from the Sanatan community participated. The program was attended by Khagrachhari Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Sujan Chandra Roy, district president of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad Ashok Majumdar, vice president Ashish Bhattacharya, general secretary Prabhat Talukdar, and other leaders. Prayers were offered for the peace of the departed souls, the injured’s swift recovery, national progress, and overall well-being. Speakers expressed deep sorrow over the disaster and assured continuous support for affected families.
Mongla:
On the same day, Mongla Municipal BNP held a doa mahfil (prayer session) at their temporary office on Madrasa Road, chaired by convener Md. Zulfikar Ali. Senior leaders including secretary Md. Mahbubur Rahman Manik, senior joint convener Md. Khorshed Alam, joint convener Md. Emran Hossain, ward general secretary Kazi Md. Faruk, and women’s wing leader Kamla Begum attended in large numbers. Hafiz Maulana Ruhul Amin led prayers seeking mercy for the deceased and recovery for the injured.
Tangail:
Tangail district BNP organized a milad and doa mahfil at the Old Court Building Jame Mosque, chaired by district BNP president Hasanuzzamil Shaheen. Attendees included district general secretary Advocate Farhad Iqbal, Sadar Upazila BNP president Ali Azgar, general secretary Abdur Rauf, and district Jubo Dal secretary Touhidul Islam Babu. The speakers stressed the need for preventive measures to avoid such tragedies and emphasized collective responsibility to honor the deceased and support the injured. Advocate Farhad Iqbal reaffirmed the party’s commitment to stand by the affected families. Leaders and activists from district and upazila BNP and its allied organizations participated.
