Dhaka, June 24 (V7N) — Education Advisor CR Abrar has said that it is unrealistic to expect that all the problems in the country’s education sector will be resolved solely through the formation of the Education Commission.
He made these remarks while speaking at a dialogue titled ‘Budget 2025-26: Education and Employment’ held at Dhaka University on Tuesday (June 24) morning.
Abrar acknowledged that significant challenges remain in the education sector, saying, “It’s not that there are no problems. There are limitations in both time and resources. But everyone must carry out their responsibilities properly.”
Reflecting on his tenure, the Education Advisor admitted, “I have been in this position for a short period. I haven’t yet fully grasped the depth of the problems. Much of my time is spent managing immediate crises and preventing movements. I don’t have the time to work with the enthusiasm I had when I took charge.”
Regarding proposals raised by university teachers, Abrar highlighted several key areas of focus:
-
Encouraging entrepreneurship among students through institutional support,
-
Addressing the lack of female participation in technical education, and
-
Aligning technical education with the demands of the national labor market.
He stressed the importance of coordinated efforts from all stakeholders to bring meaningful reform to the education sector.
