Dhaka, Feb 15 (V7N) — The governments and heads of state of 13 countries, including China, India, and Pakistan, have been invited to the swearing-in ceremony of Bangladesh’s new cabinet.

Invitation and Policy Coordination

The decision to invite foreign dignitaries was made following consultations with key policy leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), which won the 13th national election. The invitations were sent by Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

The list of invited countries also includes Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. The ceremony will be held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban next Tuesday.

Representation from India

Indian media NDTV reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending a separate meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on the same day. Consequently, Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar or Deputy President C.P. Radhakrishnan may represent India at the ceremony.

The invitations reflect Bangladesh’s effort to strengthen diplomatic ties with regional and global partners as the new government assumes office.
