Dhaka, Feb 06 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has canceled its election rally scheduled for Sunday, February 8, in Nayapaltan ahead of the 13th National Parliament elections and referendum.
This was announced by Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a press conference at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan on Friday.
Rizvi said that instead of holding the Nayapaltan rally, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman may address election meetings in different parts of Dhaka city, both north and south, on February 8 and 9.
At the same press conference, it was announced that Abdur Rashid Jitu, newly elected Vice President of Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU), along with other student leaders from various levels of the Central Hall Parliament, have joined the BNP and its student wing.
