Dhaka, Dec 23 (V7N)- The recently launched National Democratic Front (NDF), led jointly by a faction of the Jatiya Party (JP) and the JP itself, has announced candidates for 119 parliamentary seats, with a few constituencies seeing two candidates each.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at a hotel in Dhaka on Tuesday, where JP Executive Chairman Mojibul Haque Chunnu read out the names of the candidates.
Formed on December 9, the NDF currently comprises 18 political parties, including the Anisul Islam-led faction of the JP, JP, Janata Party Bangladesh, Trinamool BNP, Bangladesh Nationalist Movement, Bangladesh Cultural Liberation Alliance, Ganofront, Bangladesh Muslim League (Mohsin Rashid), National Islamic Grand Alliance, Bangladesh Swadhin Party, Bangladesh Swadhinata Party, Alliance Democratic Party, Bangladesh Ganotantrik Andolan, Democratic Party, National Cultural Alliance, JSD (Shahjahan Siraj), United Democratic Party, and Gano Andolan.
Several leaders spoke at the press conference, including Japa Chairman and NDF Chairman Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, JP Chairman Anwar Hossain Manju, and Japa Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader, highlighting the alliance’s commitment to contest the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections and consolidate their political presence.
