Dhaka, Dec 19 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has postponed scheduled programs of two of its senior leaders amid the prevailing situation in the country.
The party’s media cell confirmed the decision on Friday.
According to the announcement, a program of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, scheduled to be held at Sech Bhaban on Manik Mia Avenue at 3:00 pm on Friday, has been postponed.
In addition, the program of BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, which was scheduled to take place in front of WASA Bhaban at Karwan Bazar at 4:00 pm, has also been postponed for the time being.
Meanwhile, BNP has called an emergency meeting of its Standing Committee in light of the current situation. The meeting will be held later tonight, and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is expected to join the meeting virtually.
The party, however, did not disclose further details regarding the reasons behind the postponement or the agenda of the emergency meeting.
