Dhaka, Dec 15 (V7N) — DUCSU Vice President Sadiq Kayem has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to three key advisors of the interim government, demanding action on law and order and accountability for recent attacks, including the shooting of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Osman Hadi.
Kayem made the announcement after a meeting with Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury at the ministry on Monday afternoon. Speaking to reporters, he said that if immediate measures are not taken and visible improvements are not seen in the law and order situation, the Home Affairs Advisor, Legal Advisor, and Foreign Affairs Advisor will have to resign.
He outlined the three key demands:
-
Accountability for Osman Hadi’s attack:
-
All individuals directly involved in the attack must be arrested.

Relevant state organs, including intelligence agencies, must be held accountable for negligence.
-
Cultural figures supporting the attack and endangering Hadi and the July revolutionaries must be socially boycotted.
-
-
Action against the banned Awami League:
-
Area-based combing operations must be launched within 48 hours.
-
Arrest all terrorists from the organization and seize illegal weapons.
-
Government negligence in this regard will no longer be tolerated.
-
-
Response to Indian influence and fugitive leaders:
-
Fugitive Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina must be brought back to Bangladesh and face justice for crimes against humanity.
-
Diplomatic relations with India should be reconsidered in protest against harboring accused individuals.
-
Relations with India cannot be normalized until accountability is ensured.
-
During the press briefing, Kayem criticized government inaction and stressed that strong and visible measures are essential to prevent further destabilization of the country’s political environment.
