Dhaka, Nov 15 (V7N) — Salahuddin Ahmed, member of BNP’s Standing Committee, has said that if the party comes to power, the constitution will be amended to restore the principle of “trust and belief in Allah.” He made the remarks while attending the International Khatme Nabuwat Mahasammelan organized by the Khatme Nabuwat Preservation Council at Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday afternoon.

Ahmed emphasized that those who do not believe in the Messenger of Allah cannot be considered Muslims and expressed BNP’s agreement with this view. “If BNP is entrusted with governing the country, the demands of the Khatme Nabuwat Parishad, including declaring Qadianis non-Muslims, will be discussed in parliament and decisions will be made accordingly,” he said.

At the same event, Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Rafiqul Islam Khan reiterated that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the last prophet and those who deny this are not Muslims. He stated that Jamaat would also act on the demands of the Khatme Nabuwat Parishad if it comes to power.

The conference, which began at 9 am, has drawn devout Muslims from across Bangladesh, irrespective of political affiliation. Scholars and religious leaders from five countries, including Bangladesh, are participating. Speakers at the event called on Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus to take immediate action to declare Qadianis non-Muslims.
