Dhaka, Nov 15 (V7N) – Dhaka-20 constituency potential candidate and Dhaka District Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal President Yasin Ferdous Murad has urged BNP leaders and supporters to remain alert against what he described as conspiracies being carried out by groups opposed to the party and the country’s interests.

Speaking at a views-exchange meeting with leaders from 147 polling stations of Dhamrai Upazila and Municipality on Friday afternoon, Murad said BNP has been protesting against “fascism” on the streets for the last year and a half.

He alleged that party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia had been imprisoned in a “baseless case,” and acting chairman Tarique Rahman had been sentenced in “numerous false cases.” Murad further claimed that BNP leaders and activists at various levels have faced arrests, attacks, disappearances, murders, and other forms of persecution.

Murad also accused a religious political party of “doing business in the name of religion” under the protection of what he called fascist forces. “After the July mass uprising, they have started emerging one by one from under the fascist umbrella. Convinced that the rice sheaf will win, they are now conspiring against the BNP and against the country. We must remain vigilant,” he warned.

The meeting was presided over by former Dhamrai Upazila BNP General Secretary Principal MA Jalil. BNP leaders Khandaker Ayub, Sunil Saha, Khurram Chowdhury Tutul, Sabina Yasmin, and others were also present.
