Dhaka, Sep 22 (V7N) – Law enforcement agencies have arrested six leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliated organizations from different parts of the capital.

The arrests, carried out on Sunday (Sept 22), were officially confirmed today. However, the names of the detainees were not disclosed immediately.

Deputy Police Commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Muhammad Talebur Rahman, told reporters that the individuals were arrested on allegations of participating in and financing the Awami League’s “Jhatika processions” in Dhaka at various times.

“Six more leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliated organizations were arrested in different parts of the capital on Sunday. More detailed information will be provided later,” he said.

Further details about their identities and the specific charges against them are expected to be released following ongoing investigations.
