Dhaka, Sep 20 (V7N) – Salahuddin Ahmed, member of the BNP Standing Committee, has said that the party believes issues related to proportional representation (PR) in elections should be resolved through negotiation, adding that ultimately, the people will decide if PR is implemented.
He made the remarks at the third dialogue of Youth State Thinking on Education and Educational Institutions with Human Values held at the Diploma Engineering Institute in Kakrail on Saturday.
Ahmed emphasized that merely urging students to withdraw from government activities is insufficient; there must also be genuine willingness among students to act. He further commented that the judiciary has not clarified how the July Charter should be implemented constitutionally.
At the same dialogue, NCP leader Hasnat Abdullah noted that although the government includes advisors recommended by multiple parties, the NCP is often blamed for failures. He also warned that if biased media coverage continues, the “invisible shadow” conspiring against the country could grow stronger.
