Dhaka, Sep 14 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the authorities manipulated the recent DUCSU and JUCSU elections to ensure the victory of a particular organization.
He made the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of DEB at the Diploma Engineers Institute in Kakrail on Sunday afternoon.
Rizvi accused the Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor, saying he acted “in collusion with some quarters of the government to monopolize the results.” He further questioned the printing of JUCSU ballot papers from an institution linked to individuals associated with a political party.
Expressing concern about the current political climate, Rizvi alleged that leaders and activists of the ruling Awami League, who have long “persecuted opponents in different areas,” are now joining Jamaat-e-Islami. He warned of a “blueprint” to suppress nationalist forces.
“The rise of such forces is dangerous for both democracy and religious people,” the BNP leader claimed, adding that a large section of the government is patronizing Jamaat.
