Dhaka, Sep 12 (V7N) – BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain has said that no election should be organized in a manner that raises questions about its credibility. He noted that there must be a reason behind the boycott of not only the Chhatra Dal-backed panel but also other panels in the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) elections.

Dr. Zahid Hossain made the remarks on Thursday after paying tribute to BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at his grave, accompanied by members of the newly elected convening committee of the Diploma Engineers Association of Bangladesh.

“Through such farcical arrangements, dictatorship is being rehabilitated. Many conspiracies are being hatched to delay Bangladesh and hinder democracy. The escaped dictatorship and anti-national forces want to unite and disrupt the democratic journey,” he said.

He also urged election organizers to refrain from “creating divisions” and called for ensuring a truly democratic environment in student politics and beyond.
