Dhaka, Aug 27 (V7N) – National Citizens Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has said that his party wants elections to the Constituent Assembly and Legislative Assembly to be held under the legal framework of the July Charter. He stressed that the sooner the charter’s legal basis is established, the sooner elections can be organized.

Nahid Islam made the remarks while speaking to reporters before departing for a visit to China on Tuesday (August 26) night.

He informed that an eight-member NCP delegation is traveling to China for five days at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The primary objective of the trip is to strengthen party-to-party communication. During the visit, the NCP and CPC are expected to exchange political missions and visions.

Nahid Islam further stated that the visit would help enhance friendly relations between the governments and peoples of Bangladesh and China. He also expressed his intention to meet with Bangladeshi expatriates during the trip.
