Dhaka, Aug 7 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi stated that the government has met the public’s demand by scheduling elections before Ramadan.
Speaking to journalists after visiting the family of Masuma Begum, who tragically died in the Milestone School plane crash in Diyabari on July 7, Rizvi said preparations have begun following the Chief Advisor’s letter to the Election Commission. He expressed the public’s expectation for transparent and fair elections, assuring that BNP will fully cooperate to ensure neutrality in the electoral process.
Regarding reports about NCP leaders traveling to Cox’s Bazar, Rizvi said they are free to go anywhere and insisted there is nothing suspicious about their visit. He emphasized that the people do not expect conspiracies or cover-ups from those who played significant roles in the democratic movement and overthrowing fascism.
Rizvi also highlighted the public’s desire to see accountable governance in the country, stressing that national progress is impossible without accountability.
Following his visit, BNP extended financial support to the family of Masuma Begum. Additionally, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has taken responsibility for the education of her son, Abdullah.
