Dhaka, July 18, (V7N) – Jamaat-e-Islami is set to hold a national rally at Suhrawardy Udyan to present its 7-point demand, which includes the introduction of a proportional representation (PR) system, a visible trial of the July massacre, and ensuring a level playing field in national politics.

The party’s Secretary General, Professor Mia Golam Parwar, confirmed this while inspecting the rally venue on Friday afternoon. He stated that preparations, including the stage setup, were still underway but would be completed in time.

“All necessary arrangements for a peaceful and organized rally have been taken,” said Parwar, adding that law enforcement agencies are working closely to ensure overall security. "The safety of the public attending the rally is our top priority," he noted.

Professor Parwar also mentioned that, after a long time, grassroots leaders and activists from across the country will be participating spontaneously in this national program. For public convenience, the party has arranged medical booths, drinking water, and sanitation facilities at the rally site.

He concluded by apologizing to Dhaka city residents for any inconvenience caused due to the event.
