Dhaka, July 12 (V7N) – The Dhaka Metropolitan South unit of Islami Chhatra Shibir has protested the brutal murder of businessman Lal Chand alias Sohag, who was stoned to death in front of Mitford Hospital in Old Dhaka. The organization staged a protest march denouncing the ongoing extortion and terrorist activities occurring across the country.
The demonstration began around 11:00 AM on Saturday from the Central Shaheed Minar at Jagannath University. The protestors marched through Raisaheb Bazar and Tanti Bazar, eventually arriving at the site of the killing in front of Mitford Hospital.
A brief rally was held there, where leaders condemned the heinous act and demanded justice for Sohag’s murder. They also called for an end to lawlessness and unchecked extortion that, they claimed, has gripped parts of the capital and other regions.
Chhatra Shibir leaders emphasized that the killing of a small businessman in broad daylight reflects the deteriorating state of public safety, and urged authorities to take strict and immediate action against the perpetrators.
