Dhaka, June 18 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed has called for legal action against members of law enforcement agencies who allegedly tortured him through absentee cases.

On Wednesday morning, Rizvi paid homage at the tomb of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman along with leaders of the newly formed convening committee of Narsingdi district BNP. Speaking to reporters afterward, he reiterated his demand for justice.

Rizvi emphasized that the struggle to strengthen democracy is ongoing and expressed hope that the government’s promises regarding the upcoming elections will be fulfilled promptly.

Addressing concerns over the impartiality of the interim government, Rizvi urged that any doubts should be settled through constructive dialogue. He also called on the government to establish a national task force to effectively combat the ongoing dengue and COVID-19 challenges.
