Dhaka, Nov 16 (V7N) – The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed in Dhaka and four surrounding districts to maintain law and order amid recent unrest and security concerns.

According to a statement from the BGB headquarters on Sunday, the force is on duty in Dhaka, Gopalganj, Faridpur, and Madaripur districts to ensure overall security and prevent any law and order disturbances.

The deployment comes ahead of the scheduled verdict in the case of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina over alleged crimes against humanity, which is set to be announced on Monday (November 17).

Authorities noted that in recent days, incidents of sabotage, including cocktail explosions, arson attacks on vehicles, and the burning of July memorials, have occurred in various parts of the country, including the capital. The BGB’s presence aims to maintain peace and prevent further disruptions around the verdict.
