Dhaka, July 25 (V7N) – Special prayers and supplications were held at Milestone School and College in the capital today to seek forgiveness for the souls of those who perished in the tragic plane crash earlier this week. Similar prayer sessions will also be organized at other religious institutions at convenient times across the country.
The Islamic Foundation (IFA) has called upon all mosques nationwide to organize special dua (supplication) sessions after Friday prayers today. The request was made to Khatibs, Imams, and Mosque Committees to ensure participation in this act of solidarity and remembrance.
This initiative follows a decision taken at an Advisory Council meeting held on Thursday (July 24). The IFA has urged all relevant authorities to pray not only for the deceased but also for the recovery of the injured.
The tragedy unfolded on Monday (July 21), when an F-7 BGI training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, shortly after taking off at 1:06 p.m.
According to the Ministry of Health, the death toll has risen to 32.
