Dhaka, July 18 (V7N) – The 48th Special Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Written Examination is being held today (Friday) in the capital to urgently recruit doctors in the health sector. The two-hour examination is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and will take place at 20 examination centers across Dhaka city.
According to the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), a total of 41,025 candidates are participating in the exam against 3,000 available posts, meaning approximately 14 candidates are competing for each seat.
Breakdown of Posts
Of the 3,000 posts to be filled:

2,700 positions are for Assistant Surgeons

300 positions are for Assistant Dental Surgeons
This special BCS has been arranged as a fast-track recruitment initiative to strengthen the country’s healthcare services.
Exam Instructions and Format
Per PSC guidelines:

Candidates must report to their respective centers between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM

Entry will be closed after 9:30 AM
-
Only admit cards and black ink ballpoint pens are allowed inside the center

Carrying any prohibited items will lead to legal action

Candidates were advised to check their hall name in advance on the admit card
The exam consists of 300 marks, out of which 200 marks are allocated for the written examination in Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format. The remaining 100 marks are for the oral examination, to be held only for those who pass the written portion.
