DHAKA, June 18 (V7N) – The three-day National Fruit Fair-2025 is set to commence tomorrow, Thursday, June 19, at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) premises in Dhaka's Khamarbari area. The fair aims to promote local fruit consumption and encourage tree planting across the nation.
Agriculture Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury will officially inaugurate the fair on Thursday morning. Running until Saturday, June 21, this year's event is themed: "Eat more local fruits, let's plant fruits bearing trees."
The fair will be open to the public daily from 10 AM to 8 PM. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore various fruit farming technologies and purchase a wide array of chemical-free fruits.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, a total of 75 stalls will participate in the fair, featuring 26 government and 49 private organizations. These stalls will showcase diverse fruit varieties and innovative cultivation techniques.
A key highlight of the fair will be a seminar titled "Local Fruits in Health, Nutrition and Commercialization: Current Perspective, Challenges and Prospects," to be held at the KIB auditorium. Agriculture Adviser Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury will serve as the chief guest for the seminar, with Agriculture Secretary Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian presiding over the session.
On the closing day, Saturday afternoon, awards will be presented to the best stalls at the fair premises, recognizing excellence in display and contribution to the fair's objectives.
