Rangamati, Aug 24 (V7N) – Advocate Dipen Dewan, a leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and member of its National Executive Committee, is actively leading awareness campaigns to promote the implementation of the 31-point agenda set forth by BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman for building a new Bangladesh.
On Saturday, coinciding with the weekly market day, Dewan, along with party workers, conducted a leaflet distribution and public meeting at the Reserve Market in Rangamati town. The event aimed to raise public awareness about the party’s vision and plans.
Several senior BNP leaders and activists joined the program, including Saiful Islam Chowdhury Bhutto, former mayor of Rangamati municipality and vice president of the district BNP; district vice president Zahid Ahmed Saudagar; advisor Rafiqul Ahmed; district Labor Party president Momtaz Mia; Upazila general secretary Ronel Dewan; district treasurer Jasim Uddin; former student leaders and several others from BNP and its affiliated organizations.
During a brief discussion after the leaflet distribution, Advocate Dipen Dewan expressed concern over reports that loyalists of the current authoritarian government and representatives of dictatorship still maintain a presence in key areas such as the Reserve Market. He also alleged that some BNP members maintain relations with these elements and provide them cover.
Dewan urged party activists to identify and stand firmly against any such individuals within the party ranks. He emphasized the importance of party unity in communicating Tarique Rahman’s 31-point agenda to the general public. According to Dewan, successful implementation of this agenda will enable the BNP to secure a decisive victory in the upcoming elections as people exercise their voting rights.
