Jhalokathi, Sept 20 (V7N) – A nine-year-old boy, Md. Shihab Mahmud, has successfully memorized the entire 30-parah Holy Quran in just 11 months, bringing pride and joy to his family and teachers.
 
Shihab Mahmud is the son of journalist Md. Shahidul Islam and teacher Mosa. Mahmuda Akter. The family resides in Kathalia due to professional commitments, while their permanent address is Boulpur village under Morelganj upazila, Bagerhat. Shihab is a student in the Hifz division of Qayedabad Hafizur Rahman Tahfizul Quran Madrasa, where he joined to fulfill his parents’ wish of Quranic education.
 
Born on January 1, 2016, Shihab first studied in the Nazrana section of the madrasa and then advanced to the Hifz program. In just 11 months, he completed memorization of the entire Quran, an achievement that has impressed both his family and teachers.
 
Shihab expressed his feelings, saying, “Alhamdulillah! I feel very happy to have become a Hafiz in such a short time. My teachers have supported me greatly, and I am grateful to them. Initially, I thought it would be very difficult, but Allah made it easy for me. Please pray that I may become a great Islamic scholar in the future and live by the teachings of Islam.”
 
His father, Md. Shahidul Islam, said, “Shihab has fulfilled our dream by becoming a Hafiz. We are grateful to the madrasa founder and teachers. We pray for his future and hope Allah accepts him for the sake of Islam.” Shihab’s mother, teacher Mosa. Mahmuda Akter, also expressed joy and gratitude for her son’s accomplishment.
 
Hafiz Md. Abdul Kader, head teacher of the Hifz division, said during the Paghri (cap-giving) ceremony on September 19 that Shihab started the Hifz classes after only nine months in Nazrana and completed the Quran in 11 months. He added, “We hope he will participate in international Quran competitions, bringing honor to our madrasa, family, country, and nation.”
 
The founder director of Qayedabad Hafizur Rahman Tahfizul Quran Madrasa, Md. Nurul Amin Alam, expressed pride, stating, “Through Hafiz Shihab Mahmud, our madrasa’s name has been illuminated. We pray that many more students achieve Hifz and that Allah accepts all their efforts.”
