Dhaka, Sep 02 (V7N) – Ahead of the upcoming Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections, university authorities have prohibited outsiders and guests from staying in student halls.

Chief Returning Officer Professor Md. Jasim Uddin issued the notification on Tuesday, stating that from September 2, only enrolled students will be allowed to stay in the halls.

For the elections, major student organizations including Chhatra Dal, Islami Chhatra Shibir, and Ganatantrik Chhatra Sangsad have announced separate panels, while leftist student organizations have fielded two panels. A total of about 10 panels, both full and partial, are contesting.

This year, 471 candidates, including 62 female candidates, are competing for 28 DUCSU posts.
