Bagerhat, Aug 28 (V7N) – With the slogan "Sobuje Shajai Bangladesh" (Let’s Adorn Bangladesh in Green), a tree plantation campaign was officially launched in Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat on Wednesday, aiming to raise environmental awareness among students and the local community.
 
The "Tree Plantation Campaign 2025" was inaugurated at 11:00 AM on the grounds of Ambika Charan Laha Pilot High School in Morelganj. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Habibullah formally opened the event as the chief guest.
 
Organized by Channel i's Prokriti O Jibon Club in association with Banglalink, the event brought together local government officials, educators, journalists, and students. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Badruddoza, Upazila Engineer Md. Ariful Islam, Agricultural Officer Md. Saiful Islam, and Banglalink’s Shoronkhola Area Officer Md. Abid Rahman were present as special guests.
 
School Head Teacher-in-Charge Manjurul Karim, President of the Morelganj Press Club H.M. Moinul Islam, General Secretary Ganesh Pal, former President Mashiur Rahman Masum, and other senior journalists and press club members also attended.
 
During the event, over 600 students from Ambika Charan Laha Pilot High School each received a sapling, including fruit-bearing, forest, and medicinal trees, as part of the campaign’s mission to encourage youth involvement in environmental conservation.
 
The initiative aims not only to increase green coverage but also to instill ecological responsibility among the younger generation in Morelganj and beyond.
