Narayanganj, Nov 15 (V7N) — A minibus parked on the Dhaka–Chittagong highway in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, caught fire early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred around 6 am in front of the office of the Executive Engineer of the Roads Department in the Shimrail area, confirmed Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahinur Alam.

According to police, the driver had left the Naf Paribahan minibus parked on the highway around 10 pm the previous night. The vehicle remained there overnight. Locals noticed flames coming from the bus early in the morning and alerted authorities.

Fire service teams promptly arrived at the scene and extinguished the blaze, though the seats were already burnt by the time they intervened.

OC Shahinur Alam said it has not yet been determined whether the fire was caused by an act of sabotage or a mechanical fault. An investigation is underway.
