Satkhira, Sep 20 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized a large consignment of Indian medicines worth Tk 1.2 crore during an operation in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira.

Lieutenant Commander Muntasir Ibne Mohsin, media officer of the Coast Guard West Zone, confirmed the development on Saturday morning.

Acting on secret information, a special team from Coast Guard Station Kaikhali conducted a raid in the Mirgang area under Shyamnagar Police Station on Friday afternoon. During the operation, a huge quantity of illegally imported Indian medicines was recovered.

Officials said the seized medicines were being smuggled into Bangladesh by an organized gang. Legal proceedings over the seizure are currently underway.
