Naogaon, Sep 19 (V7N) – The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed 16 Bangladeshi nationals into Bangladesh through the Shitalmat border in Patnitala upazila of Naogaon, according to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
In a press release issued on Friday, the 14 BGB Patnitala Battalion said its patrol team arrested the group early in the morning near a tea shop in Ghurki village, close to the paved road. The individuals had been forced across the border near pillar 254/1-S, under the jurisdiction of Shitalmat Border Outpost (BOP).
BGB confirmed that all 16 are Bangladeshi citizens, originally from Pabna district. The group includes seven men, four women, and five children.
They have since been handed over to Patnitala police station for legal proceedings, BGB added.
