The group consists of residents from the districts of Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore, and Narail. After entering Bangladesh, they were detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Nilphamari and taken to a local camp. Authorities are currently processing their handover to the Panchagarh Sadar Police Station.
According to the BGB, the individuals crossed into Bangladesh through the Sub Pillar No. 19 of Main Pillar 764 at the Khunia Para border and Sub Pillar 3 of Main Pillar 743 at the Amarkhana border. The group was arrested shortly after crossing.
Panchagarh Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Hill Zaman confirmed that 10 of the detainees have already been handed over to the police station. The remaining five individuals, who crossed through the Amarkhana border, are being brought to the police station.
