Bandarban, July 03 (V7N) — Two individuals, including a commander of the Kuki Chin National Army (KNA), were killed during an army operation in the remote hilly areas of Ruma upazila in Bandarban.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the development in a press release issued on Thursday. According to the ISPR, the army recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition from the scene, including three submachine guns (SMGs) and one rifle.

The operation is part of the military’s ongoing efforts to curb armed activity in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The ISPR also stated that the operation is still underway, with security forces continuing their search and clearance activities in the area.

Further details, including the identity of the deceased commander and the broader objectives of the operation, have not yet been disclosed.
