Dhaka, Sep 24 (V7N) – The low pressure area currently in the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent coastal areas may intensify, and another low pressure system could form in the central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours, according to a notification from the Flood Forecasting and Warning Center issued at 9 am on Wednesday.

The center reported that no significant heavy rainfall was recorded in the country’s interior in the past 24 hours. However, heavy rainfall was observed in the upstream state of Assam, India. There is a possibility of moderate to moderately heavy rainfall in Bangladesh’s interior and upstream areas over the next 72 hours, from 9 am on September 24 to 9 am on September 27.

Meanwhile, water levels in all major rivers of the country remain below the danger threshold, the center added.
